CCL stands for 'Church Copyright Licence', as a Church organisation you should hold a valid CCL licence (renewed annually) to authorise the use of songs.
This is a requirement for Churches no matter which software is used, and is
dealt with independently.
No, you get it from CCLI (Christian Copyright Licensing International) www.ccli.co.uk for the UK and www.ccli.com worldwide, telephone (UK) 01323 417711 for more information.
This is only for convenience, it will remind you 28 days before your CCL is due for renewal and can be helpful.
You can use the song register to assist you in
completing this report.
Yes click here to download it.
The Manual can also be found under 'C:\Program
files\SongPro'. SongPro also has built in context sensitive help (F1) or 'Help -> Contents'.

(i.e no default image set for new songs).
In windows explorer create a folder, name it e.g. 'holiday-pics' and place your pictures in this folder (they must be .jpg, .jpeg or .bmp). If you wish to display these pictures in a particular order, number them before the picture name e.g 1beach.jpg, 2paddling.jpg.

There is no Mac version at the moment, however you can run SongPro on Apple Mac using VMware Fusion Version 2 or above, a number of users have this configuration.
Single screen/monitor (normal)
This shows both SongPro's control panel and the display on the same screen, PC and projector.
Dual screen/monitor (recommended)
This shows the control panel on your PC screen, and the display only on the projector screen.
The benefits of Dual are that
the congregation will only see what you want them to see and not your control panel when you have finished or in between
displaying.
XP
Right click on your desktop click 'properties', select the 'settings' tab. If it shows monitors 1 and 2 and a check box saying

(It is normally necessary to connect
hardware to the VGA port for this setting to be effective)
XP
1. Right click on the desktop click on 'Properties', Select the 'Settings' tab
Select monitor '2' (which should be positioned to the top right of monitor 1),
adjust the settings of this monitor to match the projector resolution you wish
to use.

You should now be able to move the mouse pointer to the right and on to the projector screen. If you can do this then it is correctly set up for dual display.
3. Re-start SongPro.
#Note: After disconnecting the VGA port the next time the PC is powered up, it
may forget the dual screen setting. Some users find that putting their system into hibernate mode enables the PC to retain this setting.
Vista
1. Right click on the desktop click on 'Personalise', click on 'Display settings'
Select monitor '2' (which should be positioned to the top right of monitor 1), adjust the settings of this monitor to match the projector resolution you wish to use.
2. Click the box 'Extend the desktop on to this monitor' then click 'Apply'.
You should now be able to move the mouse pointer to the right and on to the projector screen. If you can do this then it is correctly set up for dual display.
3. Re-start SongPro. #Note: After disconnecting the VGA port the next time the
PC is powered up, it may forget the dual screen setting. Some users find that
putting their system into hibernate mode enables the PC to retain this setting.
#Note: Some laptops may have an additional multiple monitor control
provided by the driver - if you can't configure dual screen with the above
instructions check your computer manual for dual monitor/screen setup.
Laptops No. Some have built-in Dual screen capabilities, it depends on their chipset/firmware.
Desktop PCs Yes. You need a graphics video card of the right type for the computer (It may be a PCI, AGP or PCI-E card). Another solution for a second output is a dual head video card. Matrox G400, G450 and G550 cards or nVidia GeForce cards use DualHead technology, allowing a second monitor to be run from a second video port on the same video card.
Note: Many graphics cards have a DVI socket for the second port - you will need to get a DVI to VGA (HDD15 D-Sub female) adapter to connect your VGA cable
If you go with Matrox's dual-headed video adapter for your dual display, you'll need to take steps to get that second monitor working. Here's how:
First, make sure you have installed the latest video drivers and companion utilities (Matrox cards use
PowerDesk software).
Next, go to 'Start ->Settings ->Control Panel ->Display->Settings->Advanced.
Click the DualHead tab and select DualHead Multi-Display.
Click Apply, click OK, and then reboot the computer.
Return to the Settings tab in the Display properties dialog.
You'll see a picture of two monitors. Select the second monitor.
Windows will ask 'Do you wish to extend your Windows desktop to your secondary monitor?'. Answer Yes.
Set the resolution and colour palette, then click Apply.
When you click OK to accept the changes, your dual monitors should be functioning properly.
In SongPro select 'View->Options->Hardware', then click 'OK' to update SongPro.
You can learn more about DualHead technology at
Matrox.com or nVidia.com
Yes you can control any projector if it has 'RS232 control' from a Serial Port or from a USB port, by using a USB to serial converter.
SongPro can then send commands over the serial port (or via the USB pseudo serial port) to the projector.
The actual port to assign would be found by experimentation.

This automatically registers the songs you've used (displayed for longer than 50 seconds) for CCL. Song titles beginning with # will not be entered into the register.
It will ask on-close of SongPro 'do you wish to update the Song Register for this session?'
Unfortunately no. We have been in contact with CCLI to ask them what format they would like it submitted as,
but due to the way they currently require the data, you have to enter it yourself via the disc they provide, you can use the
song register to assist you in completing this report. We're told they will be changing their
system in the future and when they do we could provide a song register submit facility that will be acceptable.
Click 'Add' enter your starting point book chapter .(dot) verse click 'Set Start'
Then enter your ending point book chapter .(dot) verse click 'Set

Tip: if you are ending in the same chapter there is no need to type the book & chapter in again, simply enter .(dot) verse

However you can convert flash videos to .wmv using a conversion tool. This free software
'YouTube Downloader' does the job and is easy to use, you can download it from:

(we recommend to convert into .WMV format for SongPro)
You need a capture card installed, please
see here for one
